This mid-century modern home is a design love letter to 1970s chic |

At any time questioned what mid-century modern-day perfection appears to be like? Call off the lookup due to the fact this home created by Malyev Schafer is the epitome of mid-century contemporary chic.

House owner and interior designer Yana Schafer, the co-founder of Malyev Schafer (opens in new tab), introduced the family home to lifetime by exploring a reverence for 70s architecture and decor, preserving and re-envisioning its record with equivalent treatment. 

Yana lives in the vicinity of New York Metropolis with her spouse and their a few youngsters in this property, initially developed by architect Lawrence Stern. She honored the classic spirit of the household while introducing contemporary elements.

‘We noticed the house stated right before we had been even major about purchasing and fell in like with its West Coastline mid-century aesthetic, particularly with its Richard Neutra-esque central glass atrium,’ remembers Yana. 

‘We understood residences like these never come on the East Coast current market often, so the house itself grew to become the selecting component in shifting to the suburbs.’

The household is found in the New York Metropolis suburbs in Limited Hills, New Jersey (just above 50 {a57a8b399caa4911091be19c47013a92763fdea5dcb0fe03ef6810df8f2f239d} an hour from NYC). The neighborhood is identified for its sprawling parks, reservation, and wooded setting.
