Chanticleer has been termed the most romantic, imaginative, and thrilling general public back garden in The us. Dan Benarcik, 1 of seven very gifted Horticulturists, has been instrumental in the garden’s transformation because its infancy. Dan is a passionate gardener and artist who fuses his adore of vegetation, sculpture, and design into enjoyment and marvel.

This structure and motivational converse will give gardeners, whether beginner or professional, strategies to enliven your individual gardens and suggestions to use when considering about your beds, pots and plant mixtures for the year in advance.

Born in Wilmington, Delaware, Dan’s childhood uncovered him with one foot in the flowershop/ greenhouse and a single in the woodshop. A College of Delaware plant science degree led him to Mt. Cuba Heart as the Woodspath gardener, then a soar to wholesale plant income with Imperial Nurseries just before becoming a member of the youthful staff at Chanticleer in Wayne, Penn.

There he has used 28 decades generating and employing seasonal shows within just the Courtyard Gardens, which involve the famed and stunning Teacup Backyard, named for its central fountain. Dan’s aim has extensive been tropical and non-hardy crops with a powerful emphasis on dynamic layout, imaginative container mixtures, and progressive show.

He also conceives and manufactures the wood workings, stone carvings, paintings, and metallic operates on screen through the backyard garden. His enthusiasm for design and style has translated into constructing furniture both for the garden and for his home and to educating chair creating workshops.

It was a normal development to want to share his enthusiasm for horticulture as a result of speaking and writing. Dan joined the Yard Writers Association now Gardencomm and served as the Regional Director as effectively as earning the status of Fellow. His producing has appeared in Wonderful Gardening, Horticulture, Martha Stewart Residing and Rodale’s gardening publications.

He is co-author of The Artwork of Gardening: Design Inspiration and Revolutionary Planting Techniques from Chanticleer. On television, he has promoted plants on QVC for Cottage Farms Nursery and was highlighted on episodes of ‘Cultivating Life’ and with his home back garden on Developing a Greener Globe. He lectures internationally.

In his remaining totally free time, he teaches and volunteers. He is component of the continuing education and learning system at Longwood Gardens. He volunteers for the Delaware Center for Horticulture’s Rare Plant Auction as aspect of the Plant Choice Committee and as a Plant Skilled at the occasion.
