The American home furnishings manufacturer Steelcase is now identified for its ergonomic activity home furniture and dilemma-fixing storage devices that characterise the contemporary place of work. But the historic firm, which dates again to 1912, is now re-setting up an forgotten aspect of its background.
Steelcase has reintroduced a clean (and faithful) reinterpretation of Frank Lloyd Wright’s first layouts for a workstation and desk chair, which the architect developed for the SC Johnson Administration Constructing in Racine, Wisconsin, in 1939. Produced by Steelcase back again then as it is now, the Frank Lloyd Wright Racine Collection faithfully recreates the desk and desk chair in the fashion and finishes of the originals, whilst incorporating new touches that reflect our recent approaches of residing and functioning from property.
