East Galesburg, IL farm camp includes activities, gardening, crafts.

GALESBURG — A new Galesburg summertime camp will allow 32 girls involving the ages of 12-14 to embark on a week-very long journey into the science, math, language, history and bond that a yard produces amongst character and human beings.

The inaugural Spurgeon Gardens Farm Camp Job is established for July 11-17. The camp is open up to women ages 12-14 with a want to understand about the earth and food items. During the week-extensive occasion, just about every camper and the volunteers who guidance them will have ordeals in the back garden, even though participating in activities, visits and crafts.

Numerous of the activities will be at Spurgeon Gardens, 126 Arizona Ave. in East Galesburg. Campers, interns and adult instructors will be housed at Knox College or university.

“It is a local community-pushed venture committed and passionate about giving a sense of community for young ladies,” said Melissa Kehoe, a person of the Farm Camp Undertaking organizers. “A bodily, mentally, and emotionally wholesome younger female with a good outlook and worldview, who feels cozy within their communities, can shift mountains. Just as a balanced, sustainable atmosphere can provide for all if properly cared for and liked.
