The community is invited to the sixth annual “Christmas in the Park — Garden Enchantment” this Friday and Saturday evening in Liliu‘okalani Gardens and Park.
In the course of the several hours of 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., various spots of the park along Banyan Drive in Hilo will be embellished with Christmas lights and other holiday decorations.
The function is coordinated by the Friends of Liliu‘okalani Gardens.
On Friday, the function will open up with a blessing by kumu Moses Kaho‘okele Crabbe at 4:30 p.m.
Rotary Clubs will then offer bokashi balls for people to toss into Waihonu Pond at precise places from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Keiki will be able to acquire pics at a booth with the Grinch on Friday and Santa Claus on Saturday.
Buddies of Lili‘uokalani Gardens also is inquiring for volunteers for every night time to distribute programs, remedy questions and to help men and women navigate the park.

There will be several light-weight displays all-around the park sponsored by Hilo Liko Lehua, Urasenke Tea Society of Hilo, the Hilo Lions Club, Rotary Clubs of East Hawaii, the Hawaii United states Federal Credit history Union, United Way and lots of other local companies and corporations.

Na Hoku Huihui, a team of astronomers, will established up a telescope at the sago palm patch in close proximity to the western torii gate, so attendees can look at the stars.
